UCC Defeats Shawnigan in a Shootout
In the second game of the Northwood Tournament, UCC faced Shawnigan Lake. A team coming all the way from British Columbia.
The Blues left burnt Shawnigan only a minute into the game with a great goal from Anthony Dicriscio. On the power-play 12 minutes later, Edward Moskwitz would net one with help from Piaget Ntakarutimana. Shawnigan cut the lead in half with a goal at 5 minutes left in the first. Mathew Sheehy brought the lead back up to two with his power-play goal assisted by Owen Eubanks. Again Shawnigan crawled back into the game with their power-play goal 2 minutes later. Another power-play goal later in the second brought the game back to even again. The thrid was a great period with no edge coming to either team. After a 3 on 3 overtime failed to find a winner this game had to go to a shootout.
Jeremy Bello played another amazing game and did not allow any goals on Shawnigan's shootout efforts leaving Zach Dumas and Ben Attkinson to tidy up our shootout win.
