October has been a very busy month in Prep sports — and it’s not over!
Highlights have included hosting duties for two exciting events.
On campus, the Prep hosted the CAIS U13 Soccer National Championship with our friends from Royal St. George's College. Sixteen teams from Victoria to Bermuda and many places in between competed for three days in incredible October weather.
Coach Dupuis led UCC’s B team to a strong finish in Division I, while the A team made it to the final. The U13A team and Coach Evans had a perfect record in the round robin and a convincing victory in the semifinal over the perennial powerhouse St. George's Vancouver. While they fell in the final to Saltus Grammar School of Bermuda, the entire Prep School is proud of their silver at the national championship and how well they represented the College.
The Prep also hosted the annual Norval Cross-Country Meet, with close to 400 CISAA athletes descending on the hills and dales of UCC’s outdoor school. Our student-athletes represented the College well and our coaches were proud of the results. Coaches Dupre, Harper, Tran, McCormack, and Yim are doing a great job of preparing and organizing the teams for race days.
The rest of the fall will continue to be vibrant, with a full roster of activities including U12 volleyball, and U10, U11 and U12 soccer.
